Meet Marla Steele, Pet Psychic
By the Nicasio School News Staff
Do you like the Dr. Doolittle movie in which a vet actually talks to and hears answers from all sorts of animals? Now, that ability will become reality right here in this interview. Do you know who can talk to animals? Marla Steele, wife of Nicasio teacher Mr. Colin! If you don’t believe it, there is 99% likely proof is on its way, not to mention funny, bad, odd, and amazing stories. You might start reading this thinking we are crazy or at least gullible, but you will finish thinking of logical explanations, including the possibility of talking to and receiving answers from animals. NOW THIS IS THE END OF BEGINNING.
Marla’s Childhood
Did you know that Colin Williams has a wife named Marla? To make it even more exciting, did you know that Colin William’s wife is a pet psychic, and a really good one too? First, however, let us give you some background on Marla’s childhood.
Marla’s life began in Kansas in 1965. Her parents’ names are Kay and Al. They both had very interesting careers; her dad was a doctor and her mom was a nurse. Marla went to a large elementary school named Ridgeview in Kansas. She has two older siblings named Mark and Pam. She also had many pets, including a cat named Miko, a dog named Bruno and a big dog named Duke. Her older sister Pam had two horses that she shared with Marla. The horses’ names were Shazam and Macintosh. Marla had various hobbies, which included walking Bruno and riding the horses. Other hobbies were roller-skating and ice-skating. Her favorite subject in school was English and her favorite teacher was named Marla too! She had a trampoline and a tetherball at school that she enjoyed.
When we asked about bullies in her youth, Marla replied that when she walked to school a bully would be waiting around the corner and he would really push her around. There was another bully at school who used to take her milk money. Marla’s school had some strict rules like no gum or drinks in class. Her school was a high-ranking academic school where all students respected their teachers.
Young Adult
Marla moved from Kansas to Arizona just before seventh grade in 1977. In Arizona, she attended a kindergarten through eighth grad school for two years before going to high school. During high school Marla’s dream car was a Toyota Celica, which she later ended up getting.
Her favorite sport was track because she was very small, skinny and fast. Marla was also good at swimming and shot put. Her ability at throwing the shot was surprising to coaches because of her small size but Marla was strong.
In high school she had her first dance recital of jazz and ballet. Her first job was working at Swensen’s Ice Cream Parlor where she made sundaes and banana splits.
Marla attended Arizona State University. At that time she worked a part-time job at Contempo Casuals. She managed to buy herself her dream car, a supped-up Celica. While at Arizona State, Marla participated in an exchange program with the University of London. She studied for one year in England and also traveled to Europe. This was her first time away from her family. The following year she received her degree in broadcasting from Arizona State University.
In college Marla had no idea of becoming a pet psychic. She moved to Marin from Arizona for a radio job in Mill Valley. She met Colin in Petaluma at a restaurant in 1994, but they didn’t begin to date right away. They married on February 29, 200. They now live together in Petaluma and have been married for four years.
How did Marla become a pet psychic?
It all began with her dreams that featured her grandmother reporting on her father’s health. When Grandma told her that her Father was ill, Marla had her father go back to the hospital to double check the results of a biopsy. Although the results had turned out negative, meaning no cancer, her grandma reappeared in Marla’s dream telling her that Pa was under the pressure of cancer. When Marla had Pa go in for a second biopsy, they found cancer.
While caring for her dad in Arizona, Marla sensed that her horse back in Marin was sick. She returned, but the horse was fine. Two weeks after her return to Arizona, she received a phone call from Colin telling her that the horse was in fact sick. Marla returned to Marin and took the sick horse to U.C. Davis. Her horse recovered, but unfortunately her father did not.
Marla has been a pet psychic since these events in 2000. Do you want to know what a pet psychic does? Well here’s your chance to find out.
People call her from both nearby and all around the country. Distant clients may send a photo of their pet or just think about him/her to assist Marla’s attempts to contact the animal. While she is silently talking to the pet, Marla might feel their pain, or she may see their favorite toy or object, or the pet may say words, all inside Marla’s head.
Marla took a class to focus and strengthen her ability. She learned that it is most important to believe it is possible to send to and receive communications from an animal. She taught us some basics and those basics are: use your imagination, just focus on the pet, become peaceful, and then wonder about something. She said, “Anyone can do it, especially children because of their special bond with animals. It just takes a large amount of practice.” She told us to concentrate on the animal, quiet all other thoughts, ask or imagine your question and the first thing that pops into your head will most likely be the animal’s answer!
Marla has a hard time telling the gender of an animal psychically because everyone has male and female energy and the age of the animal may even change what the animal answers. In Marla’s experience a cat that complains to her about a hairball, will often expel the hairball a week later.
We are going to tell you funny stories about some animals Marla has contacted. One dog that Marla contacted prior to making a house call said that his human “dad” was on a diet and it wasn’t going very well! This next story is about a horse and his favorite treat. While Marla was working on his shoulder, the horse pictured himself licking a Popsicle. Marla asked the owner if the horse had ever had a Popsicle, and the owner said, “Yes, the horse used to eat Popsicles and he probably wants another!”
If Snakes Could Talk
While Marla was in our class she told us a few things that our pet snakes were thinking. Julius Squeezer, our big boa constrictor, said he’s tired, but also a little bored. He showed her a crease on his belly that he had gotten while sleeping. He said he had bad breath and is always hungry. He also said he has a good sense of smell and escaped last year because he was following a scent. He did not find its source, but he found many good hiding places. He was able to climb vertically up the classroom shelves. “It was like being on an adventure,” he said. If we take him out more often, he said he’s not promising he won’t get into trouble, like trying to escape our grasp.
Normally we feed Julius dead prey and it takes him the privacy of nighttime to eat it, but Marla said that it was because he loves to hunt and misses it. He showed Marla a step-like climbing structure he would like to have inside his tank. In response to Sarah’s question, Julius said that he would like to take over the world.
Then the class went over to Hercules and Perseus’ tank. Marla put her hand up to the tank, attempting to communicate with Hercules, and he instantly rose up and faced her hand, feeling her energy. Hercules said it is nice having company, but Perseus is not his favorite snake. Hercules said he would like a hiding box, holes for burrowing and a climbing structure. He also said that both he and Perseus bite people because they aren’t the best handheld pets, but we should not take it personally.
Perseus told Marla that he wants a climbing ladder and two hiding places so he can have his own space. He wants his hiding place to be a straw hut that he can burrow under, built on his artificial palm tree, but sturdy enough for him to climb on top. He also would like something crunchy to munch on between meals, possibly crickets. Unlike Julius, Perseus does not want to take over the world, explaining that he is too lazy.
Both Hercules and Perseus are not as picky as Julius is about eating dead prey so long as they are fed. We also learned that Hercules likes to be held by girls, but that Perseus prefers boys.
Next we went to the corn snakes’ tank. Marla spoke with Rudolf first. Rudolf told Marla that he knows Charlotte and Matilda are his daughters. He said that his living situation is good since his first mate Scarlet O’Hara left him for parts unknown. He is more relaxed and in charge. Rudolf Valentino added that it is due to the increased light these pst two years, (now that we are out of the portables and back into our regular classroom) that caused him to be fertile again.
Marla said that Rudolf’s daughter Charlotte is playful and has a good sense of humor. She unfortunately did not have time to tell us any more.
Since Marla can only know what pets tell her, she realizes that her information can be incomplete. She emphasizes that she does not take the place of a vet in animal care, but she can give insights from the pets themselves regarding their care.
Marla thinks her job is great and she even wants to start her very own tv pet psychic show in which she would read animals’ minds. She told us about a British pet psychic on the Animal Planet channel.
If you want to learn more about Marla or contact her yourself, you can log onto her web site named www.HealingWithEnergy.com. Marla also offers pet psychic parties.
